Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. Fearing stress, her parents didn't want to see her pursue acting before she reached the age of age 18. Perry confessed that she wasn't confident in her acting during high school. She began performing as a means to connect with new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry relocated in New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought the actress back to California and she was able to find acting work. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. She performed with their father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 on The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC crime thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played a recurring role on The ABC political thriller Scandal with her father. The same year she was cast as a young version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young model of the mother's character. She got the part by auditioning for an open role despite being a fan of this character.
