Ina Gardner is the author of many popular American cookery books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. The show is on since 2002. Ina began her career by working at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy documents. She initially adored the intellectual rigors that came with her work, but she eventually, she began to lose interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty store for food. It took her nearly 18 years to make her shop wildly successful, before she decided to sell the store. After that, she started writing her first cookbook. Numerous magazines and cookbooks followed. Her Food Network TV show also was launched with great success. In addition, she sells all kinds of cooking equipment, tools and storage containers. Ina is a self-taught cook that hasn't gone to a cooking academy, nor been in an kitchen. She's known for her easygoing style of making food and hosting. Her most well-known recipes are Skillet - Roasted Lemon Chicken Mac and cheese, Mac, Beef Bourguignon and cheese, Beatty's Chocolate Cake as well as Lemon Bars.
